Upcycle Your Empties

If you’re a regular oiler, then you likely have a few empty bottles kicking around. Instead of throwing them in the recycling, I have some tips for you on how to up-cycle those bottles!

CLEAN YOUR EMPTIES

I start by using every single drop out of the bottle. Invert your empty bottles into a jar of epsom salts and the oil will infuse those salts for the next time you’re ready for a bath. You can place multiple bottles in there for a relaxing aromatic experience. The bottles can sit for a couple of days and then you’re ready to clean them for up-cycle use!

Remove the caps, orifices + labels.  If the labels don't peel off nicely, soak them for 10min in a bowl of hot water + 3 TBSP of baking soda + 1 drop of dish soap + 5 drops of lemon oil.  Remove the labels and glue + let air dry.

MAKE SPRAYS

You’ll need to order spray heads for you bottles. You can do that here in Canada and here in the US.

PRE-MAKE DIFFUSER BLENDS

How genius is this? If you have a diffuser in a bedroom or front hallway, you can create a specific blend dedicated to that area. Order dropper tops here in Canada or  here in the US. You can also just keep the original cap + orifice.

Just add a dropper full to your diffuser when you are ready!

GIFT DIFFUSER BLENDS

If you love to gift at holidays or for birthdays, this is an awesome option. I love to create custom diffuser blends for friends and family. Just pre make your diffuser blend and then name it for the individual you are gifting it to.

I’d love to know how you up-cycle your bottles. Any other tips or ideas?
